David W. Concepción named Journal Editor

 

The editorial board of AAPT Studies in Pedagogy is pleased to announce the appointment of David W. Concepción (Ball State University) to a five-year term as Journal Editor.

David brings to the position many years of experience and leadership in pedagogical scholarship. He has served a number of positions within the American Association of Philosophy Teachers—including terms as President and the chair of the Teaching and Learning Committee—and recently chaired the APA’s Committee on Teaching. Among his many relevant experiences and accomplishments, David has served on the multiple editorial boards, edited a volume of AAPT Studies in Pedagogy, and published a number of important and influential articles, including the 2006 Lenssen Prize winner, “Reading Philosophy with Background Knowledge and Metacognition.”

Concepción is preceded as editor by Rory E. Kraft, Jr. and Kevin Hermberg, whose term as co-editors as come to an end.
